Improving access to the arts through systems-level change
In 2012, we hosted Engage, our first exhibition of work by Vermont artists with disabilities. In 2018 we re-invigorated our exhibition efforts through Flourish, which showcased the work of 36 professional artists with disabilities. In 2019 we made the commitment to host biennial exhibitions, beginning in 2020 with ANEW. MASKED, our 4th exhibition, toured statewide through April 2023. Our 5th exhibition, CYCLES features the art of 25 Vermont artists with disabilities. It is touring the state in 2024.
As part of these exhibitions, we offer a full range of accessibility services including print materials in braille and large print, an audio tour, verbal descriptions of every work in the show, tactile elements, sensory kits, ASL and captioning.
